SETTING GOALS

Setting goals and having a vision is important! Creating and sustaining an environment of cooperation and teamwork will not only help your team want to achieve your practice goals but it will also make your practice much more productive and profitable.

As far as setting practice number goals, we recommend working with a dental practice management and coaching firm that can run an effective financial analysis. Once your analysis is completed, the numbers in your reports will tell a story. Knowledgeable dental coaches will be able to read your reports, identify untapped potential and areas for growth and explain how you can make successful changes to increase the health of your overall practice.

• Write down your goals and review them frequently.

• Set realistic, attainable and measurable goals to achieve your practice vision.

• Communicate and monitor these goals as a team.

• When a team understands a clear benchmark that is to be met, it creates a strong work environment as they work toward a common objective together and they are more likely to achieve the goal.

• At a monthly team meeting, celebrate the goal numbers that were met and then discuss the goal numbers that were not met and what the team can do differently in the next month to try to meet those goals.
