HOW TO SUSTAIN TEAM ENGAGEMENT

HOW TO SUSTAIN TEAM ENGAGEMENT

KEEP YOUR TEAM ENGAGED

A doctor can empower their team by regularly asking for ideas and feedback for practice improvement.

Include team and co-leaders in business decisions. Get them involved. If the team feels that their ideas are heard, validated and implemented, the more invested they will be. The more invested your team leaders are, the more likely the other team members will follow. It all starts with leadership. Lead by example.

Employees want stimulating work. Keep growing and introducing new ideas to the team. Positive change is growth is healthy for the overall practice.

If you find an employee seems unfulfilled, find out what their workplace goals are, if appropriate, offer more challenging tasks or tasks that align more with their skills and personality.

In addition to getting your team leaders involved with business decisions to increase employee engagement, we recommend quarterly team building activities, outings or meals to give the team a chance to bond and communicate outside of their everyday work environment. Schedule and mark the quarterly dates on the team community calendar. Pre-plan and decide what activity you will do each quarter so you aren’t scrambling the week of trying to figure out what the activity will be. Planning is key.
